FAQ

What happens at the Innovation Studio?

We ask the founders of each startup we fund to move to Amsterdam for the duration of their 6 month cycle, during which we work intensively with them to get the company into the best shape possible. You will validate your solution, business model and collaborate with other startups and internal teams to learn and grow as fast as possible.

How can we get funding for our startup?

ING participates in the form of a convertible note and will have a minority stake. The startups need to get additional funding to be able to succeed. We will use our network of Angel investors to help the startup get extra funding.

How much do you invest?

We'll invest max EUR 50/k.

We've already been working on our startup for a while. Is the Innovation Studio appropriate for us?

We can help any startup that hasn't already raised a series A round from VCs.

We've already taken some funding. Can we still apply?

Sure.

We don't really need the money. Does it still make sense to apply?

The money is a only a small part of what the Innovation Studio does. The money we invest works more like financial aid in college: it ensures that the people who do need money can cover their living expenses while creating your business in the Studio.

Can a single person apply for funding?

No, you will need a team with different skillsets (design, build and sell).

Can we do it without moving to where you are?

Sorry, no. We would not be doing a startup a favor by not making them move. You can leave one founder at home, but the rest, including the CEO, have to live in Amsterdam during the 6 month cycle.

We also have an accelerator in Belgium: FinTech Village

Do we have to be Dutch citizens?

No, as long as you can get here for at least 6 months.
